A Day Teaching Dental Care In Preschools

On February 27 I was just as excited to speak to a preschool class at Sallie Cone Elementary as the children were about me visiting their class. When I walked in the room I heard a little voice say, "She's the queen!" A little boy let me know that he loved my crown and he was a king!

I also got to go to my nephew, Logan's,  preschool in Conway and speak to 2 of the classes. I was so happy to see him. My sister in law also came and brought one of my other nephews, Noah.

I told the children why I was there and asked them about their brushing habits. They would raise their hand if they brushed every day and keep it raised for twice, three times, or more a day. In Logan's class I had a student tell me he brushed 100 times a day!

We read a story about the lion who wouldn't brush his teeth and then discussed what happens when we don't brush our teeth. All of the little ones told me they would get cavity bugs.

I taught the children how to take care of their teeth with their new dental kit and they all promised to use it every day.

They were so sweet and so eager to tell me about their dentist visits and how they brush their teeth! The classes sent me home with cookies and other goodies! I felt so welcomed and had a wonderful time. Thank you for allowing me to visit with your sweet students.

Mrs. Boatner wanted her turn to wear the crown! :)
