CMN National Pancake Day at IHOP

Each year I enjoy being a part of National Pancake Day at IHOP. This year I had the privilege of participating at the Conway IHOP for the breakfast shift. I greeted customers at the door and shared with them information about Arkansas Children's Hospital and Children's Miracle Network, while encouraging them to donate. Almost every customer who walked through the door donated to CMN. I was able to visit with customers and even deliver some pancakes. I was so excited to see Tiffany, the ACH representative, walk through the door and enjoyed visiting with her about the event. I even got to see my precious dance student Ava.

Thank you to everyone who came out to IHOP and especially to my friends and family for supporting Children's Miracle Network.

Diamond Ball Benefitting Children's Miracle Network

Wow! What a fun and heart warming appearance this was! I was proud to attend the Diamond Ball with some of my Miss Arkansas sisters and some of the teen contestants. I can't thank the Circle of Friends enough for putting on this wonderful event and allowing me to be a part of it.

When first arriving at the ball I saw one of my former dance students, Meredith. I was so excited to see her! She was the princess from last years event.

We took pictures with all of the young girls and of course had a great time dancing the night away with all of the little princesses. The event was also a father/daughter dance. It was so sweet to see all the dad's having a wonderful time with their little girls.

Harley Lee was crowned princess at the event. Her mom shared a very touching story about their experience with Arkansas Children's Hospital. She only had a 3% chance to live, but with the help of Arkansas Children's Hospital is alive and healthy today.

I am so proud to be a part of an organization that focuses on helping children.

My Visit With The First Graders At Estem Charter School

Friday, February 28 I spoke to the first graders at Estem Charter School in Little Rock about my platform.

These students were some of the most well behaved children! I met many of them walking in the hallway of the school. One young girl asked me if it was my birthday. I told her it was not and she then wanted to know why I had that crown on my head then.

The students loved the presentation and were so eager to participate in the activities.

This young girl was prepared to floss! She had so much fun and did a great job!

They also loved the sugar activity.

I had a student tell me the reason they didn't floss was because they didn't have any floss. This is why I have such a heart for going into schools. I have had many children tell me they do not have the necessities to properly take care of their teeth. I am so proud to be able to provide them with the tools they need.

We of course had to take a silly picture!

I loved getting to see one of my best friends from college and high school. Thank you Callie for allowing me to share with all of the first graders and your students. Callie is always supporting me in my Miss Arkansas journey!

A Day Teaching Dental Care In Preschools

On February 27 I was just as excited to speak to a preschool class at Sallie Cone Elementary as the children were about me visiting their class. When I walked in the room I heard a little voice say, "She's the queen!" A little boy let me know that he loved my crown and he was a king!

I also got to go to my nephew, Logan's,  preschool in Conway and speak to 2 of the classes. I was so happy to see him. My sister in law also came and brought one of my other nephews, Noah.

I told the children why I was there and asked them about their brushing habits. They would raise their hand if they brushed every day and keep it raised for twice, three times, or more a day. In Logan's class I had a student tell me he brushed 100 times a day!

We read a story about the lion who wouldn't brush his teeth and then discussed what happens when we don't brush our teeth. All of the little ones told me they would get cavity bugs.

I taught the children how to take care of their teeth with their new dental kit and they all promised to use it every day.

They were so sweet and so eager to tell me about their dentist visits and how they brush their teeth! The classes sent me home with cookies and other goodies! I felt so welcomed and had a wonderful time. Thank you for allowing me to visit with your sweet students.

Mrs. Boatner wanted her turn to wear the crown! :)
